3 SILVER POINTS FOR CENTRAL BANKERS

As defending champions end winless streak

Zebron Kalima and Stain Davie scored on either side of the half as defending Champions Silver Strikers cruised to a comfortable 2-0 victory over Kamuzu Barracks away at Champion Stadium in Mponela.

The win has eased pressure on under fire coach Peter Mgangira who until match week four was yet to record victory having lost one and drawn one.

Winger Zebron Kalima put the bankers ahead on 3 minutes before striker Dave sealed a comfortable victory with 5 minutes left to play.

The Central Bankers have now moved to position 10 on the log table with 4 points.

As for Kamuzu Barracks, defeat means they have failed to move joint top of the log table with FCB Nyasa Big Bullets with 6 points from 4 games

Sunday’s defeat has just confirmed the Chiwoko Boy’s inconsistencies this season as they have won twice and also lost twice and now occupy position 6 on the log table.

At Kamuzu Stadium, a Tonic Viyuyi brace was enough to hand Blue Eagles all the 3 points as the area 30 side gave out a strong performance to see off Mighty Tigers 1-2.

Gray Msowoya had immediately equalised after Viyuyi’s early strike on 18 minutes but that parity did not last long as the former TN Stars forward was on target again at 30 minutes.

1-2 is how it would finish.

Match week four concluded with a clash involving Dedza Dynamos and Chitipa United at Dedza Stadium.

The two teams were coming from a weekend of mixed fortunes with Dedza coming from a 2-0 away defeat to Mighty Tigers while Chitipa were coming from a 1-0 home victory over Ekhaya FC.

A Frank Sanudi brace sealed victory for Andrew Bunya’s boys who now occupy Position 7 while defeat for Chitipa has seen them now occupying position 11 on the log table.

And on Saturday, Damiano Kunje scored an 85th minute equalizer to hand Civil Service United their first point of the season having gone winless in the two opening weekend fixtures.

Former FCB Nyasa Big Bullets defender Maneno Nyoni had given Moyale Barracks the lead at 74 minutes before the diminutive full back Damiano Kunje proved vital for the civil servants coming to the rescue for Abbas Makawa’s troops who are now winless in 3 matches 2 of which they have failed to score.

So Damiano Kunje becomes the first Civo player to score a goal for the Civil servants in the 2025 season.

At Karonga Stadium Songwe Boarder United scored their first goal of life in the elite league as they went down 1-2 to fellow debutants Ekhaya FC who were smarting from their first defeat of elite football having gone down 1-0 to Chitipa United in match week three.

At Chitowe Stadium Mafco FC recovered from their home defeat to Kamuzu Barracks as they squeezed through to a 3-2 victory over Mzuzu City Hammers.

So at the close of Matchweek4, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets despite not kicking the ball still tops the standings and breathing down their neck is debutants Ekhaya FC who have also amassed the same number of points only goals separate the 2 sides.

It’s not looking good at all for Songwe Boarder United who are the only team yet to collect a points after 4 matches.

They occupy bottom position with a goal difference of minus 13.
