-Chitipa United frustrates Civo servants to a 1-1 draw
A rejuvenated Civo United gave away a 1-0 lead to salvage a point away against Chitipa United at Karonga Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Chifundo Damba had given the civil servants the lead with 4 minutes to half time but the hosts levelled the matters through Ramson Lukali 7 minutes into the second half.
Both teams made changes in an attempt to force a result but those changes proved futile.
Damiano Kunje and Frank Chizuze were introduced replacing Peter Barry and Gracious Kapachika for the Civil servants while Lamson Lukali,Trouble Kajani and Kennie Mlenga came in for Chitipa United.
All these substitutions could not bring the desired result.
The match was never short of drama as on 73 minutes’ coach Abbas Makawa was shown the marching orders for confronting the officiating personnel.
That draw leaves Civo on position 10 with 5 points from 5 games while Chitipa are on position 12 with the same number of points from the same number of games.
