League leaders FCB Nyasa Big Bullets return to action this Wednesday as they travel to Dedza to face Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos.
Bullets were exempted from action having contributed a majority of players to the Malawi Senior National team that bowed out of the CHAN qualifiers over the weekend following a 2-1 aggregate defat to South Africa.
Despite not kicking the ball for two weeks, Bullets have maintained pole position and the Peter Mponda boys will be hoping that they bounce back into action with victory in Dedza so that they extend their lead at the top to 12 points as they currently have 9 points from 3 games.
Dedza Stadium hasn’t been a fertile hunting ground for the people’s team and Coach Mponda will be hoping that his boys break that jinx as he leads his troops for the first time there as head coach.
As for Dedza, they are yet to click into gear as they currently occupy position 7 with 6 points from 4 games having won twice and lost twice as well.
Action in week 6 continue on Thursday fifth placed Mighty Wanderers welcome Mafco FC at Kamuzu Stadium.
Just like their rivals (FCB Nyasa Big Bullets), Wanderers too were on bye for 2 weeks and have only played 2 games heading into action this Thursday.
This Thursday they face a MAFCO side currently on position 10 with 6 points from 4 games.
Wanderers’ challenges this season has been their inability to keep clean sheets as on their 2 games played so far they have conceded 3 goals and managed to score 6.
Action in Match week 6 concludes with a clash involving defending champions Silver Strikers and Songwe Boarder at Karonga Stadium.
Silver have had a bad start to the season losing once, drawing once and managing only a single win and currently occupy position 11 with 4 points from 3 games.
The Central bankers are coming into this match from a convincing 0-2 victory over Kamuzu Barracks and coach Peter Mgangira will be hoping that his charges build on that victory when they face winless Songwe.
It will however not be an easy ride for Mgangira and his troops as Songwe under new coach Christopher Nyambose collected their first point of the season last Sunday after forcing Mzuzu City Hammers to a 1-1 draw.
That single point was however not enough to move them out from bottom position as they still occupy position 16 with a single point from 5.
Is Christopher Nyambose the chosen one to save Songwe Boarder?
Will it be 4 out 4 for Peter Mponda and his FCB Nyasa Big Bullets or the Dedza Stadium puzzle continues?
These questions will be answered at the close of match week 6
