Dislodged league leaders FCB Nyasa Big Bullets will be aiming to regain top spot when they play host to Moyale Barracks on Wednesday afternoon at Kamuzu Stadium.
Bullets were dethroned of top position by their noisy neighbours Mighty Wanderers who were in action on Sunday beating visitors Dedza Dynamos by 3 goals to nil to move top of the standings for the first time this season.
However, Bullets have a chance to regain top spot this Wednesday afternoon with victory over Moyale Barracks.
It won’t be easy for Bullets though as they face a Moyale side that tasted defeat for the first time this season going down 2-0 to rivals Mzuzu City Hammers last Wednesday.
Coach Pritchard Mwansa will be hoping that his charges will recover from that defeat and collect maximum points to mount a serious challenge for a top 4 finish this season.
As for Bullets, they have been in fine form since losing the Blantyre derby having won 2 of their subsequent fixtures since that narrow defeat to rivals Mighty Wanderers.
In another fixture, defending Champions Silver Strikers welcome Karonga United at Silver Stadium.
Silver coach Peter Mgangira now seem to have mastered the art of winning as his team is yet to lose a match since that opening weekend 1-0 defeat at the hands of FCB Nyasa Big Bullets.
Attacker Festus Duwe has been the architect of Silver’s success this far banging in the all-important goals and Wednesday afternoon, Karonga must be on the lookout for him.
In Wednesday’s other fixtures, struggling Civo United, deep in the relegation zone welcome Creck Sporting Club in a battle of Lilongwe brothers.
Civo have had not a perfect start to the season as they currently occupy second place from bottom and they face a Creck Sporting side under new coach Eliah Kananji who is yet to record a win with his new charges having lost his debut match 1-0 away to Ekhaya FC on match week 10.
Action in Matchweek 11 concludes with a fixture involving Chitipa United who welcome bottom side Songwe United at Karonga Stadium.
