In a bid to ensure safety at match day venues measures, the Super League of Malawi has announced new safety measures across pitches hosting super league games.
In a statement released on Thursday, the league’s governing body has warned that it shall impose strict sanctions on anyone found contravening the new measures.
Among other things, SULOM has banned the sale of beverages in glass bottles at match venues.
The league’s body has also moved in to address a serious child rights violation issue which of late has been of concern among football stakeholders.
‘No selling of beverages in glass bottles, including alcoholic drinks, will be allowed inside or around the stadium. Selling of alcohol by minors is strictly prohibited’, reads part of the stadium.
Meanwhile Sulom has also stopped the free access to football matches by fans when the match is in its dying minutes.
‘No free entry (malova) will be permitted during the final minutes of a football match’, reads part of the statement.
According to SULOM, these measures are with immediate effect and shall be in full force during this weekend’s matches.
