WEEK FIVE HEATS UP

As the FDH Bank Premiership enters Week 5, confidence is high for some sides, while others are under pressure to respond after mixed fortunes in Week 04.

One of the headline fixtures sees Blue Eagles host FCB Nyasa Big Bullets at Civo Stadium on Saturday. The police side come into the match full of confidence after a solid 2-0 away victory over Goshen City Dedza Dynamos, while Bullets will be eager to bounce back after being frustrated in a goalless draw against Red Lions.

Kamuzu Barracks travel to Champion Stadium carrying momentum following their impressive 3-1 win over Creck Sporting Club. Their opponents, Ekhaya FC, are equally motivated after securing their first victory against Moyale FC, setting up an exciting contest between the two sides.

At Zomba Stadium, Red Lions face LUANAR Mitundu FC,  hoping to build on their disciplined defensive display against Bullets. Mitundu, however, will be desperate for a response after  their back to back loses.

Moyale FC return home to Rumphi Stadium with hope to bounce back after suffering defeat to Ekhaya FC, but they face a difficult challenge against Creck Sporting Club, who are also aiming to recover from their loss to Kamuzu Barracks and have made changes to their technical team.

Sunday’s fixtures promise more drama as Mafco FC take on Chitipa United at Champion Stadium. Mafco rescued a late point against Karonga United last weekend, while Chitipa United arrive with confidence after edging Civil Service United 1-0.

Civil Service United will be looking to bounce back when they host Karonga United at Civo Stadium. Karonga continue searching for their first three points of the season.

All eyes, however, will be on Zomba Stadium where defending champions Mighty Wanderers clash with high-flying Silver Strikers in one of the biggest matches of the weekend. Wanderers are coming from a strong 2-0 win over Mitundu, but Silver Strikers have been ruthless so far scoring 9 goals, highlighted by their dominant 3-0 victory over Masters FC in Week 04.

Masters FC, meanwhile, face Goshen City Dedza Dynamos at Bingu Stadium with both team’s eager to recover from heavy defeats last weekend.

The week concludes on Wednesday when Mighty Wanderers return to action against Karonga United at Mpira Stadium.
