January 13, 2026 shall go down as a memorable day to the Super League of Malawi as we unveiled leading commercial bank FDH as our new sponsor for the next 5 years pumping in 5 billion kwacha spread across half a decade.
This marks an end to an 18-year partnership which SULOM has had with mobile network service provider TNM which has been bankrolling the elite league since 2006.
Unveiling the sponsorship package at Mount Soche in Blantyre on Wednesday evening, FDB Bank Managing Director Noel Nkulichi said from the annual 1 billion kwacha sponsorship package 375Â million kwacha will go towards team awards, 17 Million kwacha individual player awards at the end of the season, 8 million towards monthly player awards, 100 million kwacha will go towards a player welfare revolving fund(a first of its kind) whole K320 million will be channeled towards subvention to teams with K2 million set aside for outstanding referees and K80 million kwacha budgeted to cater for administrative costs.
On his part, Sulom president Brigadier General Gilbert Mitawa was all praises to FDH for the new sponsorship package.
‘The players revolving fund is a game changer and the sponsorship is a milestone to the league’, said Mitawa.
Before FDH, TNM had been sponsoring the league to the tune of 500 million kwacha in the past 2 seasons.
So it’s now official we have swapped green for blue.
Call us FDH Premiership league.
