The Super League of Malawi (SULOM) wishes to inform the public and all football stakeholders of its decision regarding the abandoned TNM Super League fixture between Mighty Wanderers and Ekhaya FC, played on 5th November 2025 at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
After a thorough investigation of the various factual elements and in light of the applicable regulations, SULOM has decided that the match should be replayed on 7 December, 2025 at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre because it did not reach the maturity stage of 75minutes of play.
In addition, the Super League of Malawi has concluded that the abandonment of the match stemmed from several deficiencies of the parties involved towards their respective responsibilities and/or obligations in connection with the former. As such, SULOM has decided:
1. Mighty Wanderers and Ekhaya Football clubs are issued a stern warning and a suspended fine of MK5Million each with respect to their failure to comply with
their obligations in relation to order and security, the preparation of and its participation in the match.
2. SULOM has recommended to the FAM Referees Committee, disciplinary action on the match officials for not complying with the FIFA Return to Football
International Match Protocol as read with SULOM rules and regulations with immediate effect.
3. The responsible SULOM security officer and General Match Coordinator are suspended for four matches each for infringements and lack of compliance with
return to football match protocols with immediate effect.
All parties concerned have been officially notified of these decisions.
