The 2024 TNM Super League returns after a two-week break as selected players were engaged on international duty on a FIFA sanctioned international Break. Fans will yet again re-occupy the edges of their seats on the reviving, reforming and rebranding trail.
A bulk of local based players who represented country on unsatisfying sojourn after back to back losses against Burundi and Burkina Faso, will shake off the dusts of defeat, and prove to be counted by their respective Clubs, as the TNM Super League, resumes.
Week 20 will prove to be extensively cracking as Silver Strikers, the league leaders look to continue with their appetizing performance against Moyale Barracks FC visiting the Area 47 based side, CRECK Sporting Club will rock horns against Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos; Mzuzu City Hammers and Karonga United will reignite their Northern Corridor rivalry, among other games.
It’s a must win game-declares Mponda
Silver Strikers who have amassed 44 points from 18 games are hoping to become just the third team to beat the Kaning’ina Soldiers, Moyale Barracks in their last 12 games in all competitions this season as Prichard Mwansa has assembled a team that can’t be easily tossed around.
Moyale have just lost two games in their recent 12 matches in TNM Super League and FDH Bank Cup as they were beaten 3-1 by FCB Nyasa Big Bullets in the semi-finals of the FDH Bank Cup and Mighty Waka Waka Tigers in the super league- winning five games in all competitions, beating Mighty Mukuru Wanderers, Baka City, Karonga United, MMF Marine, Chintheche United in process.
While Moyale Barracks will be looking to record their first away league win over Silver Strikers after 10 years, Peter Mponda, head coach for the Bankers said claiming a victory over the Mzuzu based side is a must in their quest to clinch the league since 2013, when they last placed hands on the golden trophy.
Moyale Barracks claimed their last away win over the Bankers in 2014 when retired prolific marksman Gasten Simkonda scored the only goal in the year that they finished strongly as runners up with Bullets winning the league.
The two sides shared spoils in the first round after a barren stalemate, Moyale Barracks becoming the only team to derail high-flying Bankers to stamp authority in the league. Silver Strikers have scored 38 goals, putting them above any team in the elite league, with Mighty Mukuru Wanderers on 32 goals followed by CRECK Sporting Club who have registered 30 goals, this far.
“We are not complaining, but we are seeing it as a break in our momentum however the guys know the task at hand. We played against Moyale in Mzuzu where we dropped two points but this time around we are playing at home and it’s a must win game. We need to collect all the maximum points, we know how good they are, but we also know their weaknesses. As Silver Strikers we have got enough quality to capitalize on their weaknesses”, said Mponda.
We are ready for the game- Mwansa
Moyale Barracks have had nightmares in their recent visit to Silver Stadium, failing to get a win in their last eight visits, losing five games with an aggregate of 16-5. Moyale FC were fairly baptised by 4 goals in their recent away game against the Bankers.
However, Coach Prichard Mwansa who leads his finest Soldiers on the assault lines, said the boys are ready for the game despite knowing that it is going to be a tough game considering that Silver Strikers are enjoying a rich vein of good form.

A mid table explosive encounter that promises to be a thriller on its own right as Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos Football Club welcome rockies CRECK Sporting Club at Dedza Stadium. “They have shown us a positive attitude during training something that is giving us more hope come Saturday.”
CRECK Sporting Club saw their three-game winning streak come to an end after losing 1-0 to Mighty Waka Waka Tigers. They beat Dedza Dynamos 2-0, walloped Baka City 8-0, before stunning Mafco FC 2-1 under the mentorship of the former Flames skipper, Joseph Kamwendo.
The Club announced the reinstatement of Macdonald Nginde Mtetemera who was suspended towards the end of the first half of the season and Nginde said his charges are eager to end Dedza Dynamos’ unbeaten run at home.
“We expect it to be a very tough game because Dedza Dynamos are very tough when playing at home. The players know the importance of this game and we are hopeful that we will get the result,” he told the Club’s Media.
