FANTASTIC MADINGA GUIDES NOMADS INTO SECOND PLACE

Francisco Madinga  57th minute curler just outside of the box was all what coach Bob Mpinganjira needed to bag home maximum points over Creck Sporting at Champion Stadium.

This was the first time that the nomads were playing outside Blantyre this season and Madinga made sure that the Lali Lubani side maintain their 100 percent record to the start of the season and move just 3 points closer to rivals FCB Nyasa Big Bullets with a game in hand.

Both teams wasted several scoring opportunities in the opening half.

The nomads upped their tempo in the second half and attacker Madinga was the hero of the day as he curled in just outside the penalty box after a Promise Kamwendo lay off beating the helpless Emmance Nyirenda in goals for Creck.

Wanderers survived a late Creck scare as twice the Lilongwe based side came close to scoring but Wanderers’ defence was on guard to clear the danger.

Sunday’s defeat has now piled more pressure on coach Joseph Kamwendo(a former Nomad himself) whose side is just a place above bottom placed Songwe Boarder with 4 points from 5 games.

Victory for Wanderers has now elevated them to  12 points and maintain second place 3 points adrift of their rivals FCB Nyasa Big Bullets who lead the league standings.

Sunday’s victory means this is the first time that the Nomads have maintained a clean sheet in back to back games following last thursday’s victory over MAFCO.

Elsewhere on sunday Karonga United made a record of their own for being the highest scoring team of Week 7 following a 0-4 away thrashing of Dedza Dynamos.

Godfrey Mkoko,Allen Chihana,Nature Kaonga and Alick Austin were all on target for Ingwina.

That victory has seen Oscar Kaunda’s side move into third place with 9 points from 4 games.
