As Civil go 10 games unbeaten

Capital city giants Civil Service United have set their own record for the 2025 season Abbas Makawa’s boys have now gone 10 games unbeaten in the league following their latest triumph being a 3-1 home victory over Lilongwe neighbours Blue Eagles FC on Sunday afternoon.

Since going down 2-0 away to  noisy neighbours Silver Strikers on June 1,the Civil servants have gone ahead to win 8 and draw 2 in that course with 4 back to back wins coming in between September and October.

In total its now 900 hours of football since they last ended up on the losing side in a league match.

On Sunday goals from Chikaiko Batson, Dastan Banda and Frank Chizuze were enough to do the damage despite the area 30 side reducing the deficit in between through substitute Micium Mhone.

That win has now seen the Servants move level on points (36)with rivals Silver Strikers though the Central Bankers have two games in hand over their neighbours.

Elsewhere on Sunday, Dedza Dynamos’ struggles continue despite landing a lucrative sponsorship deal from Prophet Shephard Bushiri.

On Sunday they were humbled 1-0 away to Chitipa United United.

A 15th minute Senga Manda strike was all what Chitipa United asked for to bag home all the 3 points.

Elsewhere on Sunday Mzuzu City Hammers remained stuck in the relegation home following a 0-1 home defeat against Karonga United.

Robert Luhanga was on target in the second half

for Oscar Kaunda’s troupes, that win consolidating their third position on the log table after 21 games with 37 points.
