The Super League of Malawi (SULOM), in partnership with the Malawi Gaming and Lotteries Authority (MAGLA), has honored the inaugural winners of the MAGLA FDH Bank Premiership Goal and Save of the Month accolades.
Each winner received K1 million and a miniature during a presentation ceremony held at the SULOM offices.
The newly introduced accolades recognize outstanding goals and goalkeeping saves during the FDH Bank Premiership, while also providing a platform for MAGLA to promote awareness of responsible gambling.
One of the winners, Clever Nkungula of Ekhaya FC, who was named the Save of the Month winner for July, said the initiative would provide additional motivation to players.
“This will go a long way in motivating the players to give their best during the games,” said Nkungula.
Speaking during the presentation, MAGLA Legal Services Manager Owen Chuma hailed the partnership with SULOM, saying the football platform would help the authority reach out to a wider audience with responsible gambling messages.
“We are excited that we will be able to leverage on the game of football through SULOM to sensitize the masses on responsible gambling,” said Chuma.
Meanwhile, SULOM Marketing and Commercialization Committee Chairperson Chimwemwe Nyirenda thanked MAGLA for the partnership, saying the accolades are contributing to the competitiveness of the league.
“Many thanks to MAGLA for this partnership. Having these accolades aids the competitiveness of the league,” said Nyirenda.
Nyirenda added that the initiative aligns well with SULOM’s broader drive to revive, reform and rebrand the Super League of Malawi.

The MAGLA FDH Bank Premiership Goal and Save of the Month accolades form part of the partnership between MAGLA and SULOM aimed at adding value to the league, recognizing outstanding performances and engaging football fans on responsible gambling.
