MATCHWEEK 4 PREVIEW PART 1-SATURDAY

The excitement hasn’t reached its crescendo yet, albeit, the soccer fans have been offered an earliest calabash of satisfaction. Fans are being treated to sumptuous dishes of football, like never seen in the distant past, at this stage of the season. The tussling will take, yet, new dimensions as elite teams, return to the field of play across the country, with some mouthwatering encounters. Perched at the edges of their seats, inside various stadia, or in some secluded places in front of their television sets or even daringly holding their hard-earned radio sets, the league unleashes a 4th Week of action jam-packed encounters.

BLUE EAGLES VS CHITIPA
The BLUE Eagles FC, Ma Eagle of area 30, currently perching in unfamiliar 12th placed territory, away from their usual horizons, if the past season is anything to measure their prowess by, welcomes Chitipa United FC comfortably sitting on 6th position. The rookies from the northern tip defied odds to chalk an important home victory at Karonga against Dedza Dynamos Salima Sugar FC. Such resilience gives them belief that they can go ahead to embarrass the Eagles at their own fortress. The odds, though, tilt towards Elijah Kananji’s troops, considering they will be in front of their own commissioned faithful, and that they are desperately in need of a win having drawn against a more versatile Bangwe All Stars way on their last outing. Chitipa United will have to sweat gallons of blood, if they are to cause yet another shocker.

CIVIL SERVICE VS MAFCO FC
A complete new look Civil Service United Football Club-Civo returns at their backyard buoyed by an away slender win over Mighty Tigers at Mulanje Park. Sitting 9th in the current standings, the servants will try to caress loose grenades with bare hands, unfortunately labeled MAFCO Football CLUB, whose foreheads were ruthlessly bruised at their own base, courtesy of Karonga United Football Club. On a Saturday afternoon, within the tranquility atmosphere of area 9, the soldiers from a military training college, will try to unleash their artillery to register their second victory of the season. It may not be a stroll in the pack for the travelling men in uniform, as the servants, on a month-end, buoyed by a rare happiness of ‘Zalowa’, will try to welcome their new General Secretary in a befitting afternoon in grand style.

FCB NYASA BIG BULLETS VS MOYALE FC
If all roads in the afternoon of the commercial city of Blantyre will lead to Kamuzu Stadium, it may not only be that 2nd placed FCB Nyasa Big Bullets is playing. Rather it will imply that two unbeaten elite teams will be locking horns; one of which will be a marauding lion- Moyale Barracks FC-that has escaped the Kaning’ina forest. The grudging statistics make it fierce further, all of them are coming from the slender 1 nil away wins. It was extremely difficult, hard-earned win for Bullets against new league entrants Extreme Football Club. At some point it really looked it would end goalless, until some magical and aerial shrewdness of Hassan Kajoke, made the lone difference on the gruesome afternoon. Moyale yet to taste defeat themselves, are a side that can never be taken for granted. They have an experienced squad that on a good day can score for fun. In defeating fellow soldiers on their last outing at CIVO Stadium, the Lions have grown some thick skin to brace for anything that crosses their way. That FCB Nyasa Big Bullets commands the most ferocious faithful in the league, may not be put into any debate. However, what we may tussle with are the mental gymnastics on whether the roars from the eastern terraces will scare the experienced lions of Moyale. Is it a game of the week? Most probably.
