-Creck,KB clash in Mchinji
-Ekhaya welcomes Karonga
Lilongwe based sides Creck Sporting and Kamuzu Barracks will have to take their rivalry outside the capital city as the two sides clash on Wednesday afternoon at Aubrey Dimba stadium in Mchinji.
The two sides are coming into this fixture from a weekend of mixed fortunes in which Creck went down 1-0 to Mighty Wanderers while Kamuzu Barracks collected all the maximum points over Ekhaya FC.
Creck have had a very bad start to the season and news that head-coach Joseph Kamwendo and his assistant Abel Mkandawire have been placed on indefinite suspension has not come as a surprise as the side currently occupy position 15 with just 4 points from 5 games.
With Kamwendo and Mkandawire out on suspension, second assistant coach Harry Saidi has been placed in temporary charge of the team and he will lead the charges on Wednesday afternoon as he aims to impress his bosses.
It will not be easy for Saidi though as KB have ambitions of their own with the yellow submarines currently occupying position 4 with 9 points from 5 games.
Forward Zeliati Nkhoma has been in fine form lately as he has currently bagged in 4 goals to set the tone for his serious aspirations for the golden boot award this season.
Wednesday’s other fixture sees rookies Ekhaya FC welcoming Karonga United at Kamuzu Stadium.
Ekhaya have adapted to top flight football life so fast as they have already won 3 times in 5 outings not a bad record for a team making its maiden appearance in the top flight league.
Coach Enos Chatama will have to remind his boys that last time they were on the pitch they suffered defeat at the hands of Kamuzu Barracks and Wednesday’s fixture is a perfect opportunity for the boys to redeem themselves and move at least 3 points off leaders FCB Nyasa Big Bullets.
They however face a Karonga side oozing with confidence following their 0-4 thrashing of Dedza Dynamos away in Dedza over the weekend.
Coach Oscar Kaunda seem to have found the winning formula for Ingwina as in 4 games, the team has managed 3 wins and 1 defeat.
Midweek action finishes on Thursday as Mighty Tigers welcome Chitipa United at Kamuzu.
With action in week 8 starting midweek, the focus will surely be on interim Creck coach Harry Saidi with football enthusiasts eagerly waiting to see if he is the right man for the job to guide the team out of the drop zone.
