Win league championship after half a decade
Mighty Wanderers have been crowned champions with a game to spare following their 6-0 home victory over Moyale Barracks at Kamuzu Stadium.
The Nomads’ crowing moment thanks to their noisy neighbours FCB Nyasa Big Bullets dropping points against relegation threatened Mighty Tigers in a 0-0 draw.
Just like the biblical story of Moses who guided the Israelites on their way to Canaan, coach Bob Mpinganjira has emerged as the chosen one guiding the wandering nomads to league glory in over 6 seasons.
Promise Kamwendo netted twice with other goals coming from Isaac Kaliati, Muhammad Sulumba, Blessings Singini and an own goal from Chisomo Chiwanda made sure that the nomads paint Blantyre blue.
Moyale were completely outclassed on a day the nomads were on song and made their intentions of winning the league clear by displaying a 5 star performance.
Whilst the nomads were cruising to victory, their neighbours FCB Nyasa Big Bullets were laboring to goalless draw against a disciplined Mighty Tigers side at Mpira Stadium.
That draw has left the KauKau boys with slender chances of survival as their maximum tally of points can go as high as 33 with victory in their remaining 2 games.
With the title decided, an interesting half awaits among 4 teams in drop zone(Mighty Tigers, Mzuzu City Hammers, Goshen City Dedza Dynamos and MAFCO) who are at risk of being relegated if results don’t go their way in the remaining games.
