While Sulom President Fleetwood Haiya was busy with assignments in Blantyre on Sunday Vice President Colonel Gilbert Mitawa was in the north as a special guest at a bonanza organized by clubs in the northern region.
The event took place at Rumphi Stadium featured four top flight teams Karonga United, newly promoted Chitipa United, Ekwendeni Hammers and guests Extreme FC.
Mitawa lauded the bonanza as a brilliant initiative to help teams prepare for the forthcoming TNM Super League season starting on April 15, 2023.
Speaking during the event, NRFA General Secretary Masiya Nyasulu said the association’s goal was to ensure that the region’s representatives are ready to to compete in the league.
Extreme FC were crowned champions after beating Karonga United 3-2 in a penalty shoot out after a draw in regulation time.
