TIGERS BITE AS SPOILS ARE SHARED AT MZUZU STADIUM

-Leo Mpulula’s troops record just 2nd win of the season.

Mighty Tigers showed some resilience as the Kau Kau boys held on to a 46th minute Greyson Msowoya header to bag all the maximum points away in Karonga against Karonga United.

The Kau Kau boys were coming into this match on the back of defeat at the hands of Creck Sporting last Sunday away in Mponela.

And on Saturday, coach Leo Mpulula made some changes to the squad that has been struggling in the early stages of the 2025 campaign.

And those changes proved vital as a 46th minute Greyson Msowoya strike was all what the Kanjedza based outfit needed to smile home with all the 3 points.

It was a game that was few of chances as both teams failed to penetrate each other’s’ defense.

At the close of 90 minutes Tigers only managed 3 shots on target while the hosts managed only 4.

The win has seen Tigers move out of the drop zone as they now occupy position 9 with 6 points from 6 games averaging a point per game while as for Karonga defeat has seen them slip to position 8 with 6 points from 3 games.

Saturday’s defeat means this is the first time that Oscar Kaunda’s troops have suffered defeat in the league this season.

Else where spoils were shared at Mzuzu Stadium as Moyale, Eagles fire blanks

Blue Eagles FC failed to score for the third time in the league this season as the area 30 based side were held to a goalless draw away to Moyale Barracks on Saturday.

The Eagles made history for themselves as they became the only side to be involved in two barren draws this season (First it was a 0-0 against Creck Sporting).

On Saturday both teams came into the match with a chance of moving top of the standings with victory but it was never to be as the 2 teams settled for a goalless draw in a match both sides created few scoring opportunities.

That draw has left Moyale on position 3 with 8 points from 4 games having won twice and drawn twice as well.

As for the Eagles they occupy position 4 with the same number of points with the only difference being the number of games of played as the Eliah Kananji led side has played 5 games losing 1 in the process and drawing 2 and winning 2.
