On 25th October 2023, Lapken Thole aged 32, of Msusa village, T/A Mlolo, District Nsanje and Samson Chikwata aged 27 of Bvumbwe village, T/A Bvumbwe district Thyolo were arrested and jointly charged with the offence of falsifying oneself as members of authority which contravenes section 101(1) (a) as read with section 102 of Communications Act.
The two were found illegally live streaming on Facebook a TNM Super League match involving FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Kamuzu Barracks at Kamuzu Stadium.They appeared before Blantyre Resident Magistrate Court and were granted court bail on Friday, 27th October 2023.
SULOM reminds all stakeholders that beaming live games of the elite league without having rights and following proper procedures is an offence and may lead to criminal prosecution.
